Small Cyclades

The area is called Small Cyclades and refers to a complex of four small islands, Koufonissi, Kato Koufonissi, Schoinoussa and Iraklia located at the southeast of Naxos (central Aegean Sea). These hidden gems offer the luxury of piece and quiet, pristine beaches, hidden coves and the option to get away from it all in a simple and pleasurable manner. With a long history that dates back to the prehistoric times, each island keeps it exciting with local gastronomic specialties, great myths and a telling history and landscape that are worth exploring.

Overview of the trip

It is a six day trip starting off from Naxos and heading south for an island hopping to these beautiful destinations. Only one of them is uninhabited (Kato Koufonissi) and we have to camp or paddle back to (Koufonissi) where we can spend two days in accommodation. There is a taverna though where we can find good quality food. All the other islands provide accommodation, markets and tavernas.

At the end of the trip we usually return from Iraklia to Naxos loading kayaks and equipment on the ferry. There is connection almost every day. Returning back to Naxos by kayaks can be arranged if the weather conditions are good for paddling.

Note: The route is subject to change from the itinerary according to the weather forecast and client needs.
